Healing Touch

Healing Touch (HT) is energy based therapeutic approach to healing. Touch can influence the energy system thus affecting physical, emotional, mental, spiritual health, and healing. By assessing, treating, and evaluating the energy system, the practitioner's goal is to restore harmony and balance in that energy system, to help the person self heal. HT is non-invasive, economical and effective. Cheryl has found the following Healing Touch techniques to be very effective: mind clearing, ultra sound, pain drain, and chakra balance. Any of these techniques can be done without actually touching the person if they so desire.

The ability to facilitate healing in another person is an art, learned through an apprenticeship with experienced healers. The ability to promote healing does not rest with a particular profession, rather is an interactional connection between two or more persons with the intention to heal. When two people enter into a caring moment, a new field of consciousness or possibilities is created. Both people can share consciousness or tap into another field, the universal energy, universal spirit of infinite Love, which in turn has healing possibilities. The caring-healing moment transforms from a two-field to a one-field consciousness.

The Healing Touch program was developed in 1980 by Janet Mentgen, RN., B.S.N., in Denver, Colorado. The program has 5 levels for complete certification and the possibility of becoming a teacher of HT. In 1988 Janet was honored as the holistic nurse of the year by the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA). Healing Touch is used extensively in the nursing profession. All areas of nursing, from medical/surgical care, psychiatric, public health, hospice, pediatrics to geriatric care, can benefit by using Healing Touch.
